MootCourt is a practice-simulation platform built from the South African moot court community.
MootCourt grows out of the practical legal education work of the Student Litigation Society.
The Student Litigation Society ran moot programmes across South Africa from 2018, and more than 6 000 students took part. In 2020 it stopped calling them competitions and started calling them programmes, because producing winners was never the point. Producing lawyers who could do the work was.
Moot Court is that work on a platform any law student in the country can reach. Same curriculum, same practitioners, same standard, no faculty budget required.practical legal education into a modern digital environment.

We believe aspiring lawyers should have meaningful opportunities to practise the work of law before professional responsibility makes the stakes real.
We create structured opportunities for aspiring legal professionals to apply their legal knowledge through realistic tasks, matters and professional scenarios.
Our mission is to provide world-class legal practice-simulation programmes that equip current and aspirant legal practitioners with the skills they need to succeed, whether they’re advancing their careers, or pursuing a passion.
